I purchased the online tutorials for the Series 7. Although I passed the exam the first time with a pathetic 79, I was grateful because Empire Stockbroker's online tutorials were a nightmare. First, I had cleared the weekend to study and their site went down. Saturday afternoon, Steve Rice actually returned my call with an explanation that their site was hacked.
I was flattered he cared so much - but it ended there. Tutorials would stop at a point in the lesson and could not be restarted without logging out and then back in. The tutorials must have been done years ago Empire told me to download Google Chrome which caused problems here at work! Getting back to the tutorials: The instructors voice definitely was a huge minus - he would swallow his words and I would have to replay, replay, replay, plus it was just boring! They would put up a page from the text and the instructor would talk and highlight key points.
They had a feature where you could send text messages with questions - it has been 3 weeks and my questions are unanswered.
Series 7 Exam, Series 24, 6, 63, 65, 66 License
No one EVER answers the phone. You have to leave a message and it is hit or miss if you are called back. There were questions in the practice exams that were addressed in the material but had different wrong answers! Also, for the actual exam - I was asked 8 questions about ETF's and 5 questions about ETN's. There is a total of 18 sentences in a page textbook on these two subjects. Only 1 question that was asked was addressed in these 18 sentences.
I am not confident Empire Stockbrokers was the best choice for the Series 7. I would look elsewhere.
