Marlena Jones from MarlenaJonesArt 3: I've been trying to sell my acrylic paintings on Etsy for almost a year, I've sold one. I was slow to get new paintings online for awhile. I know the more I have for sell the more likely I am to sell them. I now have 19 for sell. I started with paintings on canvases that are 16" x 20", but the price for me to ship them are high.

I have different prices for my 8" x 10" paintings depending on how long it took me to paint it, and how much detail is in each one. Not sure if my paintings are not good enough to sell, people just don't like what I paint, or if my prices and sizes are all wrong. I am painting as much as I can, trying to get more listings.

Your tags and titles are not ideal for being found in search. Perhaps start by reading some of the posts in this team www. If you are open to the idea of printing your work not everyone is I think, for the most part, people have an easier time paying for prints.

Prints are easier, and cheaper to ship for me. Before I bought my printer I would go to my local print shop and have my originals scanned and then printed. You have to have the scanned file first though. I really didn't see any business until I started listing something at least once a week- so keep painting! Personally, I would move on if a shop doesn't at least show a state, as would alot of other people. Your art is wonderful! I pinned your duck and your waterfall to two of my Pinterest boards.

That's a very reasonable cost for shipping for original paintings, so I'd look into adding them back into your shop. And your paintings are good enough to sell--original paintings are just a hard market. Most people just go to Pier 1 for their art these days.

There are a ton of posts on here about SEO and some great Etsy SEO teams that you can join to learn more about it. And I agree with Meagan--prints are a good way to offer more options to prospective buyers. I'd consider raising your prices on those and adding the prints to get that lower price point. List them in bundles of 5 or so I love this one! For me, I love and appreciate all forms of art, but I'll only purchase an original if it goes with my house.

But I'd totally buy cards or ACEO prints. Can you offer custom animal paintings.. I don't know much abt SEO, so I have a lot of reading to do! I do both prints and originals But I stay away from printing my art on items.
